September 2-5, 2010--Over 7,300
political scientists registered for the American Political
Science Association 2010 Annual Meeting, which
carried the theme "The Politics of Hard Times: Citizens, Nations, and
the International System Under Economic Stress." Professors,
graduate students
and practitioners connected with colleagues, participated in panels,
meetings, receptions, lectures and poster sessions (more than 900
events in total), and surveyed publishers' offerings of books and
journals in the busy exhibition halls. The meeting was so big it
spread out over three hotels. A bit more than
23% of registrants came from 47 countries overseas, led by Canada,
United Kingdom, Germany and Japan.
