Arrival of the Capitol Christmas Tree  ...2 of 6 >
Nov. 29, 2010--A great deal of planning and preparation goes into this event.  Ted Bechtol, superintendent of the U.S. Capitol Grounds, traveled to Wyoming to look at the finalist trees.
Beverly Carroll, national manager of the Capitol Christmas Tree Program for the Forest Service (left), has worked on the program over the last 16 years.  Mary Cernicek (right) is public affairs officer for the Bridger-Teton National Forest, which covers 3.4 million acres in Western Wyoming.  Also on hand (not shown) was Maria Benech, a resource management program area leader at the Stanislaus National Forest in California; she will be leading the 2011 Capitol Christmas Tree effort.
