March 21,
2009--After a year of
discussion, debate, negotiating, manuvering and speechifying, health
care reform--now know as health insurance reform, or to opponents as
Obamacare--came to a vote in the House. Specifically
the
House
voted on Senate
amendments to H.R. 3590, the Patient Protection
and Affordable Care Act, and H.R. 4872, the Reconciliation Act
of 2010. Outside hundreds of protesters, including many Tea
Partiers, urged members to "kill the bill." |
Democratic members make their
way into the chamber. |
