Former Sen. Rick Santorum looks on as former Pakistani President Pervez
Musharraf addresses reporters' questions. Santorum, a senior
fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center, hosted Musharraf for
EPPC's annual "Gathering Storm" lecture. Santorum is seen as a
probable 2012 presidential candidate. Musharraf, who served as
president for almost nine years following a military coup in 1999, is
has signalled interest a possible campaign to reclaim the presidency of
his country (Facebook
page). In his lecture he reviewed the history of
Pakistani-U.S. relations and also addressed the situation in
Afghanistan.
