February 11, 2011--Gov. Mitch Daniels (R-IN) was the keynote speaker at the Reagan Banquet.  Daniels has said he will not announce his decision on a possible White House bid until after the Indiana legislative session ends in April.
Introducing Gov. Daniels, columnist George Will said he exemplifies the "charisma of competence."  He praised Daniels' 2009 commencement address at Butler University, in which Daniels urged graduates to confront the notion of the "Me Generation." (+)
In his speech, Gov. Daniels warned of "the new red menace, this time consisting of ink."  [prepared remarks]
