August 11, 2012—On this morning,
87 days until Election Day, former Gov. Mitt Romney, the presumptive
Republican nominee, introduced Rep. Paul Ryan as his running mate at a
rally in Norfolk, Virginia. "America's Comeback Team" proceded to
Ashland, and then to this rally in Manassas. Manassas is located
in Prince William County, about 30 to 35 miles west and a bit south of
Washington, DC. In the Nov. 4, 2008 general election, 162,450
votes were tallied in the
presidential race in Prince William
County, 93,438 for Obama (57.5%) and 67,622 for McCain (41.6%); Obama
fared better in the county than his statewide showing (52.6 to
46.3%).
