PRESS RELEASE from RNC
December 6, 2012
RNC Statement on FEC Filing

WASHINGTON - Today, Republican National Committee (RNC) Chairman Reince Priebus announced the RNC raised $30 million between October 17 and November 26 and had $3 million cash on hand at the end of the month.

"Today I am proud to announce that the RNC is completely debt-free after facing nearly $25 million in debt less than two years ago," said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. "I am also pleased to report the RNC and Romney Victory raised $719 million this cycle, exceeding the corresponding 2008 total by $214 million.

"This was the first presidential cycle in which our nominee did not accept public funding, allowing us to do things differently from years past. We were able to divide tasks in a strategic way among the RNC, the campaign, and the state parties, minimizing overlap and maximizing the utility of every dollar raised.

"I am proud of what we accomplished together. As we look toward the future, we will conduct a comprehensive evaluation of what worked and what we must do better to ensure the GOP is victorious in 2013, 2014, 2016, and beyond."

ROMNEY VICTORY EFFORT RAISES OVER $111.8 MILLION FROM OCT. 1 TO OCT. 17

Boston, MA – Today, Romney for President, Romney Victory, and the Republican National Committee announced fundraising totals of over $111.8 million from October 1 to October 17. The campaign, RNC and state party participants have approximately $169 million cash on hand.

Announcing the numbers, Romney Victory National Finance Chairman Spencer Zwick said, “Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are offering a vision for the country that will finally bring a real recovery to the American people. Their plan will bring much needed change after the last four years and it is why we have seen such momentum and strong support from our donors. There are less than two weeks left, but we still have much hard work to do to ensure that Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan win in November and bring real change to Washington.”

“President Obama is running a smaller and smaller campaign as we approach Election Day,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “Instead of offering a vision for how to help the middle class, he is only offering the same ideas and policies that led to the last four years of falling incomes, higher debt, and more government dependency. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are offering a pro-growth agenda and a different course than the President. In less than two weeks, the American people will choose the Romney-Ryan ticket so that our country can finally get back on the right track.”

ROMNEY VICTORY EFFORT RAISES $106.1 MILLION IN JUNE

Boston, MA – Today, Romney for President, Romney Victory, and the Republican National Committee announced fundraising totals of $106.1 million in June. The campaign and RNC have approximately $160 million cash on hand.

Announcing the numbers, Romney Victory National Finance Chairman Spencer Zwick said, “This month’s fundraising is a statement from voters that they want a change of direction in Washington. Voters of all stripes – Republicans, Independents, and Democrats – have made it clear that President Obama has not lived up to the promises of his last campaign. Mitt Romney’s message of restoring economic security and rebuilding our middle class is clearly resonating across the country. In the months to come, these resources will be crucial to highlighting the difference between President Obama’s broken promises and Mitt Romney’s plan to get America on the right track again.”

“Our June fundraising is a sign that voters are fed up with President Obama’s failure to fix our economy and want a change of direction,” said Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus. “While President Obama thinks that the private sector is ‘doing fine,’ millions of Americans are struggling to find work, pay their bills and stay in their homes. President Obama is clearly in over his head and Americans deserve better. Mitt Romney will fix our economy, repeal Obamacare, and get spending under control – that is why he is receiving such strong support from voters across the country.”

WASHINGTON, June 5, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Former Presidential Candidate Gary Bauer congratulated Governor Scott Walker for his win in Wisconsin's recall election, calling it "another sign that taxpayers will award office holders ready to do the hard work of reigning in out-of-control government spending."

Bauer, the chairman of the Campaign for Working Families,  made the following statement:

"I congratulate Governor Scott Walker for his hard-fought victory tonight, and most especially for having the courage of his convictions to fight the good fight. But the victory in Wisconsin is not Scott Walker's alone.  It is a victory for the hard-working taxpayers of Wisconsin, who foot the bill year after year.  It is a victory for common sense over powerful special interests.  It is a victory that taxpayers in every state can celebrate.  It is a victory, yes, even for some union members.

"Since Gov. Walker's reforms were enacted, tens of thousands of state employees have opted to keep more of the money they earn rather than let the public employees union siphon off their hard-earned dollars.  In other words, once given the choice, more than half of the public employees union's members decided that they didn't need the union.  These reforms will pay real dividends for the taxpayers of Wisconsin.  They are the real winners tonight.

"The recall election is a sign of good things to come.  The power of the Big Labor bosses has finally been checked, not just in Wisconsin, but also in scores of other states across the country.  More governors, legislators and taxpayers will be inspired to stand up against the liberal labor unions and do what is truly in the best interests of their communities.  Wisconsin's 10 Electoral College votes are now in play, and the anti-tax, small government movement that swept the country in 2010 is about to sweep Barack Obama out of office in 154 days!"
