IOWA STATE SENATE REPUBLICAN ASSISTANT LEADER ENDORSES SANTORUM FOR PRESIDENT


Verona, PA - Former Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA) announced today that his presidential campaign has received the endorsement of Iowa State Senator and Republican Assistant Leader Tim Kapucian (R-Keystone).

 

State Senator Tim Kapucian said, "I am proud to endorse Senator Santorum's candidacy for President. Senator Santorum is a true conservative who has stood by his principles not just when it has been easy, but during bad times as well. He recognizes the importance of American values and has traveled to not just the media centers, but the rural areas of Iowa to talk directly with the people. Senator Santorum knows how seriously Iowans take this process and he has honored Iowa's traditional First-in-the-Nation caucus standing."

 

Senator Santorum said, "I am thrilled to receive the Tim's endorsement. Tim is a true leader for Iowa in the state legislature, and I am honored to receive his vote of confidence today. I look forward to working with Tim as we work toward victory in the First-in-the-Nation caucuses."

 

State Senator Tim Kapucian (R-Keystone) was elected to the Iowa State Senate in 2008 and has risen to the rank of Republican Assistant Leader. A lifelong farmer, Kapucian is a past president of the Iowa Pork Producers and served three years on the Agriculture Advisory Board to the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Kapucian and his wife Brenda own and run a livestock farm just outside of Keystone, Iowa.

 

The endorsement of State Senator Kapucian is in addition to prior endorsements of Senator Santorum from State Senator Rob Bacon and State Representatives Dawn Pettengill and Walt Rodgers. Senator Santorum has also received the endorsement of Iowa Republican National Committeewoman Kim Lehman and former Executive Director of the Republican Party of Iowa, Chuck Laudner.
