TEAM HUCK LEADERS JOIN THE FIGHT WITH SANTORUM
Iowa and New
Hampshire HuckPAC leaders endorse Santorum
Verona, PA - Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick
Santorum
(R-PA) has received the endorsement of the Iowa and New Hampshire
leaders of former Arkansas Governor and 2008 Republican Presidential
candidate Mike Huckabee's political action committee - HuckPAC. The
endorsements of Iowa HuckPAC leader Lori Jungling and New Hampshire
HuckPAC leader Caren Bennett follow other prominent conservative
grassroots endorsements such as Iowa Republican National Committeewoman
Kim Lehman and Chuck Laudner who is the former Republican Party of
Iowa's Executive Director and former Chief of Staff to Rep. Steve King. Senator Santorum
said: "I am honored to have the endorsement of two of Governor
Huckabee's most ardent supporters in the critical states of Iowa and
New Hampshire. Both Lori and Caren have done the thankless but crucial
work that is far too often overlooked by the media - going
door-to-door, making tireless phone calls, and talking to friends
one-on-one in support of their candidates. I have long respected
Governor Huckabee and his supporters who have stood tall for faith,
family, and freedom - and I am honored to have the support of his early
state leaders. I look forward to working with both Lori and Caren as
the Iowa caucus and New Hampshire primary draw nearer." On Friday, Iowa HuckPAC leader Lori Jungling
attended the launch of Senator Santorum's
"Faith, Family and Freedom Tour" in Urbandale, IA and decided to
endorse Senator Santorum's
candidacy because he is the one candidate who sees the ties between
social and fiscal issues. To view Lori's video endorsement, please see
below: On Monday, New Hampshire HuckPAC leader Caren
Bennett released a statement to Team Huck NH announcing her support of
Senator Santorum's campaign. Please find her
statement in support of Senator Santorum below: ...
"In May of 2011, Governor Huckabee made the announcement that he would
not seek election during the 2012 Presidential Election cycle. While
disappointed, I admired greatly the faith that it took to trust God
with that decision. During
the summer of 2011, I set out to find the candidate that I could put my
support behind whole-heartedly, as I had for Governor Huckabee. I
attended events, met candidates, watched debates eagerly, and educated
myself on the GOP field and their positions on issues. On July 18th, in a home in
Henniker, NH, I met Senator Santorum
for the first time. As I listened to him speak, I was impressed by his
integrity, family-centric vision, and humility. In the weeks following
that event, I did my homework. I read the Senator's book, It Takes a Family: Conservatism
and the Common Good.
I was impressed with the work he has done in the Senate for welfare
reform, quietly doing what his faith compelled him to do. I was amazed
at the willingness of his large, Catholic family to support him on this
journey, knowing there were needs at home he could be tending to
instead of making speeches and shaking hands. I carefully watched the
debates, just waiting for the moderators to ask him about life issues
or welfare reform. On September 15th, I signed up to
volunteer with Team Santorum in New Hampshire.
On a rainy Thursday morning in October in
Concord, NH, I was there as Senator Santorum
filed his paperwork with the Secretary of State to be on the ballot for
the NH Primary. It was a historic moment, that I was proud to be a part
of. I have the great honor of living in New
Hampshire, the state that picks Presidents. Senator Rick Santorum is my choice for the next President of the
United States.
