Overview: Connecticut was very much in the blue column and did not see much of the presidential campaign other than as a fundraising stop: Obama (Stamford and Westport on Aug. 6), Biden (Kent on Oct. 13), Romney (Greenwich on May 20) and Paul Ryan (West Hartford, Darien and Greenwich on Sept. 30); Romney and wife Ann also made stops before the April 24 primary.  Additionally Libertarian VP nominee Jim Gray appeared at the University of Connecticut on Sept. 20.  The Obama ticket achieved a plurality of 270,191 votes (17.33 percentage points), carrying all counties except Litchfield.
