Americans for Prosperity in Every Corner of Ohio
Major events to be held this weekend, Over 1 million calls will be made

COLUMBUS, OH – This Saturday Americans for Prosperity-Ohio will host events across the state educating and engaging Ohioans on President Obama and Sherrod Brown’s failing economic agenda.

President Obama and Sherrod Brown have been ignoring the majority of Ohioans who object to their big-government agenda,” said Seth Morgan, AFP Ohio Policy Director. “AFP-Ohio is working around the clock to ensure the voices of Ohioans who oppose the health care takeover, the wasteful and unsustainable spending, and job-killing regulations are heard.”

This weekend’s events are just part of larger efforts by grassroots activists involved with Americans for Prosperity.  In the last two months, the “Obama’s Failing Agenda Bus Tour” has made pit stops at over 250 cities nationally, including 21 in Ohio. Ohio has made over 620,000 calls statewide and knocked on over 6,000 doors talking to citizens concerned about the economy. AFP-Ohio has 10 staff on the ground, 7 statewide offices and boasts over 112,000 activists statewide.  Nationally, AFP has made over 6.7 million calls and knocked on over 60,000 doors.

Utilizing AFP’s predictive dialing system and state-of-the-art mobile canvassing tools AFP-Ohio will host phone banking and door knocking events in Lima, Blue Ash, Hamilton, Columbus and Cincinnati.Click here for event location information.

Americans for Prosperity Radio Ad Calls out Obama’s War on Coal
$170,000 Ad Effort Urges Citizens to Tell President Obama His Policies are Hurting Ohioans

COLUMBUS, OH – Americans for Prosperity (AFP) – Ohio, the state’s leading grassroots advocate for economic freedom and limited government, today began airing a new radio ad highlighting how President Obama’s energy policies are bankrupting coal plants and hurting Ohioans.

Instead of working to create jobs and keep energy costs low, President Obama has continually pushed for failed green energy policies, forcing coal plants to shut down, killing thousands of jobs in an already depressed economy, and skyrocketing energy prices,” said Seth Morgan, AFP-Ohio Policy Director. “Even worse, President Obama knows that his policies are destructive – he has admitted that they will raise electricity prices.”

The ad quotes President Obama saying “Under my plan…electricity rates will necessarily skyrocket.

Americans for Prosperity is airing the ad primarily in Southeast Ohio, where 86% of Ohio’s electricity is made and the region most acutely impacted by the administration’s energy policies. A similar ad is running in parts of Virginia as well. The ads are AFP’s latest effort to push back against the President’s energy policies and restore economic freedom to the energy market.

“With so many coal mines closing and Ohioans losing their jobs, it defies belief that President Obama is doubling down on his foolish policies,” Morgan continued. “We hope the President will listen to this ad and stop hurting our economy.”

AFP-Ohio to Reduce Gas Prices to $1.84 a Gallon
Event part of Obama’s Failing Agenda Tour to take place this Sunday at 1 PM

CINCINNATI, OH– Americans for Prosperity-Ohio, the state’s leading advocate for economic freedom, will drop gas to $1.84* a gallon this Sunday in Cincinnati as part of its Obama’s Failing Agenda Tour. Highlighting President Obama and Sherrod Brown’s failing green energy policies that have gas prices skyrocketing, $1.84 was the cost of gas four years ago before President Obama took office.

President Obama’s ideologically-driven “green energy” policies have made it more difficult for Ohioans to fill up their tank and drive to work and get their kids to school,” said Seth Morgan, AFP-Ohio Policy Director. “And Ohio’s own Senator? He’s been a rubber stamp for President Obama’s failing green energy policies, putting Obama before his own constituents.”

AFP Ohio Calls Half-a-Million Ohioans

COLUMBUS – Americans for Prosperity-Ohio, the state’s leading advocate for economic freedom, today reached a half-a-million calls to Ohioans, educating citizens about the failed economic policies Senator Sherrod Brown and the Obama Administration.

Just one aspect of Americans for Prosperity-Ohio’s massive operations, the freedom phone system’s state-of-the-art technology reaches thousands of Ohioans every day.  Moreover, with 7 offices statewide in Columbus, Dayton, Cincinnati, Butler County, Copley, Blue Ash, and Lima volunteers are being given the tools to educate their families, friends, and neighbors about policies such as Utility MACT that are hurting the economy.

This is just the beginning; the failures of these politicians just keep piling up and cannot be ignored. It’s time for policies that lead Ohio to prosperity, not poverty,” said Seth Morgan, AFP-Ohio Policy Director. “With phone banking, door knocking, rallies and events, and concerned citizens volunteering hours and hours of their time, AFP-Ohio is educating citizens about the failed policies Senator Brown and President Obama that have Ohioans counting every penny.”

On September 22nd, Americans for Prosperity will undertake an effort to make over double this amount of calls nationwide as part of the National Freedom Action Day. Americans for Prosperity-Ohio will also shortly be announcing large rallies in the coming weeks with major speakers as part of the national Failing Agenda tour.
