IMPORTANT NOTE: Virginia has a somewhat confusing system of local government consisting of 95 counties and 39 independent cities. The list below shows counties, then independent cities. A problem is that some of the counties and cities have the same name (for example Fairfax City and Fairfax County. Also there are instances of naming that can be confusing; for example Richmond International Airport and Richmond International Raceway are in Henrico County; candidates also visited Hanover County to the North and Chesterfield County to the South. For best results look at the county or city and its neighboring/nearby counties and cities (media markets).
