Georgia GOP Marching Onward to Victory

Dear Friends,

On Tuesday, voters across the great State of Georgia spoke loudly and clearly at the ballot box. In casting nearly one-million votes for the Republican presidential candidates, Georgians emphatically told Barack Obama that we have had enough of his big government failed policies and radically liberal ideology!

I would like to congratulate Congressman Paul, Governor Romney and Senator Santorum for their strong showing in the Peach State, and would like to also congratulate Speaker Newt Gingrich on his resounding victory! Though our Party’s eventually nominee is yet to be determined, I believe that I speak on behalf of all Georgia Republicans when I say that we are looking forward to uniting behind our Republican presidential candidate and working towards triumph in November.

Super Tuesday is now in our rearview mirror, but the road to victory has just begun!

I would also like to congratulate State Representative-elect Tom Kirby, who was victorious yesterday in the Special Runoff Election for Georgia’s 107th House District. Mr. Kirby will replace former State Representative Len Walker, who left the General Assembly in December to pursue a ministerial position. Representative-elect Kirby will be a welcome addition to the House Republican Caucus, and I am thrilled to have him on our team!

This Saturday, March 10th, the next step in the 2012 GAGOP Convention Cycle is set to take place. At 10:00 AM, each of our County Republican Parties will be convening to host their respective GAGOP County Conventions. In addition to conducting the regular business of the Party, our counties will also be electing Delegates and Alternates to the 2012 GAGOP District and State Conventions.

To find out more information about your GOP County Convention, contact your County Chairman by visiting http://www.gagop.org/local/county/.

We are now less than eight months from the November Elections, and though it may seem but a distant target, I can assure you that we will be returning to the polls before you know it. There is no time for complacency; our time to act is now! I encourage each of you to stay active in our cause, and implore you to attend this weekend’s GAGOP County Conventions. Victory begins and ends with the strength of our grassroots, and we simply could not continue to take our country back without your dedication, perseverance and impenetrable will to succeed.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns in the interim, I encourage you to contact your County Chairman, District Chairman or the Georgia Republican Party at any time. Together, we will take our America back!

Onward to victory,

Sue P. Everhart, Chairman
