From lush green meadows dotted with wildflowers to small pocket of plants growing in cracks in the granite, Yosemite hosts an amazing variety of plants.  The diversity of the plant life derives from the diversity of conditions.  Yosemite's flora includes non-flowering plants (mosses and ferns), numerous small ground covering plants, larger bushes, and of course trees.  According to the National Park Service more than 1,450 species of plants have been found in the Park, and about 200 invasive species have been identified.
