"Is America Ready for Common Sense Solutions?" +
  2:35 web video from May 18, 2011.

[Music] Cain: Hello, I'm Herman Cain.  [Music fades out]  As you may know I have spent the past several months travelling the country, talking with Americans about my ideas and listening to their concerns about the challenges we face.

Let's get real folks.  Our leaders in Washington spend too much, tax too often, and repeatedly ignore our founding principles.

But I've learned that Americans are hopeful for our future.  They know America is a nation of innovative, industrious and decent people.  They believe our founding documents don't need to be re-written, just re-read.  They believe that Americans best days are ahead of us if we have the right leadership.  That's what we heard from focus groups after our strong debate showing in South Carolina.  Americans crave for a real leader with real world experience as president.

Could I be that leader?  I am encouraged that many people think so.  But taking steps to launch a campaign for the presidency of the United States takes many folks contributing their time, their talents and their treasure to make it happen.  I am willing to stand up for America, and I need you to stand with me.  I am humbled by the outpouring of support I've received during this exploratory phase.  Thousands have donated, connected on social media or offered to volunteer.  Thank you.

[Music] But I ask you today to do even more.  I know times are tough.  So many Americans are struggling just to get by.  But I'm asking you to make an investment in our country's future right now, today.  Pledge to contribute whatever you are able to do.  With your help, we can spread our message of common sense solutions to every corner of this nation.  Is America ready for real economic solutions?  Is America ready for real energy independence?  Is America ready for real national security clarity?  Is America ready for real leadership?  Is America ready for Herman Cain?
