"The 2012 Grassroots Draft Campaign"

PETITION
Governor Mitch Daniels:

Your fellow citizens are calling on you to lead our nation forward during this critical time in our history. Please listen to our appeals and count us among the first supporters in your campaign for the Presidency of the United States in 2012. We encourage you to run or accept a draft should you be called upon by your party.

America needs a president we can all trust and believe in. Your courage, vision and results-oriented leadership are needed now more than ever. Be our candidate. Run for president in 2012.

>In response to an e-mail, Andrew Fimka offered the following observations (3/14):

The www.Switch2Mitch.org website and corresponding Facebook page - www.Facebook.com/Switch2Mitch were started by a group of small business owners, led by John McCay out of Chicago. Our goal was to amplify the voices of citizens who have an interested in drafting Mitch Daniels into the 2012 presidential race...understanding that Mitch was originally drafted into running for governor in 2004.

Mitch generates a lot of buzz and therefore a lot of "ink" in the newspapers, web and blogs. We wanted to make sure we were collecting that material and presenting it to interested folks so that they could learn more about Mitch, his agenda in Indiana and his vision for the nation.

Personally, I have been involved in politics for 10 years and I have met Gov. Daniels on multiple occasions. I work in DC in a major trade association. I have followed Mitch's agenda in Indiana very closely and believe he embodies the mantra, "good policy makes for good politics" better than any politican I have ever known.

The site launch in the fall of 2010 and relaunched with a more committed content management strategy in January 2011. The site is built in WordPress. Content updates for the website and Facebook occur on a daily basis. We also have an online store portal that sells Switch2Mitch t-shirts. Finally, we will be conducting some online advertising campaigns at the end of this month.

The site (and especially the Facebook platform) has become an excellent way to link up with fellow Mitch Daniels communities and draft supporters.
