September 3, 2010--The APSA
meeting was organized into fifty divisions ranging from Political
Thought and Philosophy to Public Policy to Political Networks.
Each division sponsors a number of panels; authors typically discuss
their papers for about ten or fifteen minutes each and then the
chairman leads a
discussion. Five papers were presented at this panel on
African-American Voting Behavior. Although popular sessions can
fill the seats, some of these panels are rather sparsely attended. For example, on September 4 "enomalas"
tweeted on the APSA site, "My #APSA2010
panel went well, though there were more presenters than audience
members." This particular panel drew an
audience of
about two dozen people. |
