Oct. 8, 2011--Rep. Ron Paul
speaks at the Values Voter Summit. Of all the candidates'
speeches, Rep. Paul's was most filled with biblical references.
As with the other candidates Paul stood up forcefully for life, which
he linked to his central theme of liberty. Paul stated, "I defend
liberty to the nth degree, as long
people aren’t hurting and killing each other and stealing and
robbing.
But you cannot defend liberty unless you have
a clear understanding of life. And
believe me, as an experienced physician and knowing the responsibility
of
taking care of life, from the earliest sign of life – I know, legally
and
morally, I have a responsibility to take care of two lives. And
therefore you cannot be a great defender
of liberty if you do not defend and understand what life is all about
and where
it comes from.
